Mastery Learning
Each unit that we explore in Algebra 1 will have mastery assignments that demonstrate to me if you have retained the necessary skills and information. A majority of these mastery assignments will be tests and quizzes, but may also include projects and online assignments.
After completing a mastery assignment, I will categorize all of the questions according to the topics that were covered. For each topic, you will be given a mastery level based upon how many total points you earned.
Please remember that if you attempt a mastery assignment for a second time, then that means you should feel more confident about the material. Retakes should be done in a timely manner so you do not fall behind in the course, but increased mastery can be demonstrated in any topic at any point during the course.
Steps for Retaking Mastery Assignments:
1) Mastery Assignment Corrections: If you earned Approaching Mastery, Low Mastery, or No Mastery then you must complete corrections to retake the assignment. You need to demonstrate that you understand how to correct your initial mistake and that you now can correctly answer the question – a separate template must be used for each topic that you are attempting to retake.

As you are making correction, you may check your answers on the with the key (ask me for the key).
2) Retaking the Mastery Assignment: After completing the corrections, you must submit them to Mr. Parmar with the original mastery assignment. If everything is correct, then you will be able to retake the mastery assignment. You must approve a time for a retake with me.
